If you need chemical or UV resistance, or you're putting mats in a wash-down area, look at chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber. It isn't pretty. It's durable.
And if you want a shortcut, start with a supplier that publishes real data. The latest Pirelli sustainability report is one of those shortcuts. It doesn't tell you everything, but it tells you more than most suppliers will.
